Exothermic Training

As New Zealand's manufacturer and distributor of exothermic products, Contract Connections Ltd provides comprehensive training in the safe and correct use of exothermic welding systems across New Zealand's utility networks.

For many years, organisations such as Transpower New Zealand and other utility companies have required personnel to hold a Certificate of Competency before being authorised to perform exothermic welding on their networks.

Our training programme has been developed to provide participants with detailed technical knowledge and practical skills to ensure safe, compliant, and effective installation practices.

The course is typically delivered at the customer's premises and consists of:

• A classroom based theory session
• Practical workshop demonstrations

The training runs for approximately three hours and is limited to a maximum of nine participants, allowing for a more interactive and personalised learning experience.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants are issued with a Certificate of Competency.
